Who needs a personal chef?
Anyone who'd rather not be cooking when their guests arrive. Family gatherings, holiday-rental dinners, birthdays, anniversaries. Formal or casual, large or small. I cook for whatever the occasion calls for.
How does it work?
Once you get in touch I'll meet with you, in person or by phone, to talk through the options. We agree the menu together and I send a written quote. We go through dietary requirements, the timing of the evening, and any touches you'd like. For service I usually bring at least one qualified waiter.
What does the price include?
Your bespoke menu, the food shopping on the day, preparation and presentation, table linen and napkins, and a clean kitchen after. I'm fully insured; a qualified housekeeper supports the service for larger evenings.
Whose kitchen?
Yours, usually. I'll bring fresh ingredients, my own pots, pans, and utensils, and prepare most of the meal on site. For Delivery or Collection orders, I cook in my own kitchen and you get everything ready to finish in your oven or microwave.
Are drinks supplied?
All drinks are your responsibility unless we agree otherwise. I have good contacts in the wine trade and can introduce you if it helps.
How do you handle dietary requirements and allergies?
Tell me about allergies or anything you can't have when you enquire, and we'll build the menu around them. The earlier you let me know, the more room I have to plan properly.
How much notice do you need?
One to two weeks is ideal for a dinner party, but get in touch even if it's tighter — I'll always try. Bank holidays and the summer months book up earliest.
How far do you travel?
Across Connemara and County Galway. If you're a little further afield, ask anyway — I'll always tell you straight.
Is a deposit required?
No deposit. We agree everything in advance — the menu, the timing, the number of guests — and you settle on the evening.
